| Stop Leaky Toilets And Save Big |
Could a leaky toilet be running up your monthly water bill? If you notice unusual spikes in your monthly statement there’s one sure way to find out.
Test the flush valve by adding a few drops of food coloring to the water in the tank.
Wait 30 minutes and look at the water in the bowl.
If the water has changed color, the ball or flapper needs to be replaced.
If water is running into the overflow tube, adjust the water level to about 1 inch below the top of the tube.
